LEDs are off after boot

Mon Jan 04, 2016 11:12 pm

Hi,

after flashing my first self-compiled OpenWRT image for the VoCore the green status LED is not lit after booting. First I feared that I bricked my VoCore but it boots and establishes the WiFi client connection successfully.

I tried to change the LED brightness but without any effect:
Code: Select all
echo 255 > /sys/devices/gpio-leds/leds/vocore\:green\:status/brightness

Now I do not know if something went wrong with the image (missing setting?) or if it is related to the removing of the dock and the RX and TX pins.

The fact that it is still working is most important but some visual indication would be good.

My steps:
1. checked out chaos calmer git
2. loaded and installed feeds
3. applied patch
4. make menuconfig and select libpthread
5. flashed

After first boot and no LED status indication I removed the RX and TX pins from the dock to connect the TTL2USB and figured out that it is still alive.During boot the LEDs show existence but are turned off when it is running.

Thank you

Ok, it seems I found the missing information in vonger's blog: http://vonger.cn/?p=1934

Should I replace the existing VOCORE.dts or merge it with the changes? The blog just mentions "modify" what isn't very precisely ;)

It would be great if somebody can provide a Dockv2 patch (Chaos Calmer stable), not only the ready made firmware binary as most of us will need to modify the image. As soon as I find time I will share mine here.

Thank you

Anyway make it works will be fine. Haha, thank you for the information about the word, I will update it. (I think in Chinglish "modify" is precisely :D)
We did not go to 15.05 yet, still in 14.07, you can get the firmware at http://vonger.cn/upload/firmware/

The only different is that we change the GPIO pins for the LEDS, enable pins for I2S and I2C(used to control WM8960), rest are same. :)
