Semms that rt5350 support external 1.2V switching regulator instead internal LDO.

In future revision should be better use external switch regulator.

Hi,

I second this, this will most probably help so that the VoCore does not overheat without a heatsink.

Already somebody has done that, but result is just same :)
If the power consume can not be lower, all work we did is useless. H = I^2 R.
Anyway, RT5350 is stable under the high temperature, I have tested that for over six days, works normal.

Do you know the difference between Linear LDO and switch regulator ?

OK, I will do some test to check if that really works :)

I'm interested in the 3D printed case that has been designed for VoCore+dock but I wonder what effect this would have on running temperatures. Has anyone tried running VoCore inside one of these cases for a few hours to check whether there are any overheating problems?

Hi,

So I did a comparison between the VoCore using internal 1.2V regulator and a Router with RT5350F chip using external 1.2V regulator.

There is a huge difference.
