3G/4G/LTE Modem via USB on vocore / performance issues?

Hi,
did anyone connect a 3G/4G modem via USB to the vocore?
I tried several modems, and besides the mbim problem I described in a seperate thread, I have performance issues:
I tried several Huawei 4G modems via serial over usb driver & PPP as well as via NCM driver.
In all cases I get speed test resuls of only 1-3mit downlink (system load is ok- not too many threads). When I connect the same modem to a PC with Ubuntu 14.04 I get 15-20mbit.
Can anybody tell me his performance results on a vocore?
