wifi\usb speed issue.

Hey guys!
whats up with the speed?
i soldered on to vocore usb stick for 8 gb.
i copied 600 mb file on the stick via "wget" and the other test was just coping via ifs file server.
the maximum speed that i got was 1mb\sec.
i did the same test on my laptop, i was getting 5-6mb/sec speed.
the distance from my wifi router is 2 meters.
i was hoping to see a result for full wifi speed, but it had failed.
did someone had the same problems?
what should i look for?
