SPI bus lockout

I used the /dev/mem to directly write to the SPI port registers for CS1. My program works without
a problem but once run, the vocore no longer can access the memory on CS0. It gives an input/output
error. Any ideas why or how to reset the SPI bus other than rebooting ?
