TTL to USB Converter

The TTL to USB Converter as put in the package does not work in Windows 8.1! Please consider this....

I haven't tried it in 8.1. Is it a USB driver problem? If so, perhaps you could use Microsoft's Virtual PC emulation to run the USB driver in an XP compatible environment.

The homepage of the chip states that Win8.1 is not supported anymore and that newer chip versions should be used. In the Device Manager a yellow exclamation mark occurs. It's no problem for me because I have another converter - I just want to mention...

It works also on Windows 8.1 if you install the older version 1.5.0 of the Prolific PL2303 driver. There are some sites hosting it that can be found by googling. The exact name is PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v1.5.0.exe , it's size is 3.223.429 Bytes.
