WiFi in Europe

Hi,

does anybody know, what needs to be done to operate this device officially in Europe? I think something like a certificate needs to be done, but I cannot find clear information about this. In USA you should have a FCC certificate, there must be something similar in Europe.

Also I think becoming member of WiFi Alliance is not necessary unless I want to document the compatibility with other devices and use their Logo, but I am not sure about this either. It could also be that the chipset manufacturer only needs to be member.

Does anybody have experience with these questions?
Thx for help!
