Video on Vocore2

Wed Dec 21, 2016 7:24 pm

I'm trying to use video on my Vocore2. Is there a tutorial to connect a usb camera to Vocore2 and stream it in the browser (192.168.1.1:8080)?

I think I used to use the following on Vocore 1:

opkg install kmod-video-core_3.10.49-1_ramips_24kec.ipk

opkg install kmod-video-videobuf2_3.10.49-1_ramips_24kec.ipk

opkg install kmod-input-core_3.10.49-1_ramips_24kec.ipk

opkg install libjpeg_6b-1_ramips_24kec.ipk

opkg install libpthread_0.9.33.2-1_ramips_24kec.ipk

opkg install librt_0.9.33.2-1_ramips_24kec.ipk

opkg install libv4l_1.2.1-2_ramips_24kec.ipk

opkg install mjpg-streamer_r182-1_ramips_24kec.ipk

Both are pretty much stock openwrt on this. Whatever you did on vocore should work on VoCore2.

My production (non-beta) VoCore2 looks like it will show up tomorrow. I plan on spending a good bit of time putting instructions of all sorts on my wiki in the next few days. If you beat me to how to set up a webcam it would be great.

I had both mjpeg-streamer and motion working on vocore at one point iirc it was pretty much stock until I wanted pan/tilt/zoom to work on an old Logitech sphere.

Googling "openwrt webcam" should get you the standard how-to, I think the biggest difference you'll find is most packages you need are already installed. opkg --list-installed will show you what you already have.

vocore2 default have installed mjpg_streamer, just using the luci interface, it will work.

Return to VoCore2/Lite/Ultimate
