everything is normal.
1. first, upgrade your firmware to latest version at vocore.io/v2
2. call firstboot -y recover.
3. follow the step at vocore.io/v2 "AP+STA" mode

Indeed. that worked. I just realized i was flashing the .bin file wrong. I used to choose option 4 on bootup and then used 'loadb'.
this time i used option 0 on the bootup.

now i have just one last issue.

How to get internet to my vocore. i want to be able to install packages from the repo's

That worked indeed. i tried to update the firmware before but realized i did it wrong. This time everything worked. I am connected to my home network now, but still can't do a opkg update.
i have the terminal output below:

IT WILL REALLY HELP EVERYONE IF YOU START A NEW THREAD FOR A NEW PROBLEM. This has nothing to do with not being able to get a wifi connection so it is just noise on that subject and won't be easily found by people having problems with opkg.

Think of a forum as a set of problems and their solutions, not as a journal of your adventures getting your vocore to work!

Opkg will work just fine like this but you may run into problems with some packages that check to see if they came from the same the same compile run. See this thread for details about that.

You can just delete this line
Code: Select all
src/gz chaos_calmer_linkit http://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05.1/ramips/mt7628/packages/linkit
from /etc/opkg/distfeeds.conf if the message bothers you. All it means is opkg can't find that repo and won't load packages from the repo (that doesn't exist anyway).

Sure, add a FAQ topic.
