New VoCore2 version - will current one still be available?

Hi,

in the Blog post http://vonger.cn/?p=14551 you write that you are developing on a new version of the VoCore2 that "has a USB to ethernet".

I'm currently planning a design that needs 2 ethernet ports and a USB host. Also the ethernet network speed is relevant. So this design relies on using the native ethernet ports of the MT7628AN. I have bad experience with usb based ethernet adapters, for example on the Raspberry Pi.

Will the current design with the MT7628AN and it's native ethernet ports still be available in the future?

Thanks.

I need to decide soon if I use Vocore2 or a AM335X module for my project.

It would be nice if I could get some info about the planned availibility over the next year.

Thanks.

From my test, USB port speed is >95Mbps :) Normally it is 99Mbps

But your test was just with one port.

In my planned project I'll need two Ethernet ports and do firewalling between them.

Also USB-Ethernet adapters tend to take a lot of power and get quite hot, see for example:

Yes, ethernet takes a lot of power, also depends on the cable length I guess.
Two ethernet should be same speed, because this is based on router chip :) Its work is to transfer data at max speed.
