wpa wireless encryption

Hey,

I see only OPEN or WEP on vocore2.

Do you plan to release firmware with wpa2 encryption method?

It already support that, but LuCI interface did not add that, please check vocore.io/v2 "Setup AP + STA Mode", have to do this in console(psk2 is wpa2)
We will fix this issue soon and upload a new firmware to vocore.io/v2.

My vocore2 was delivered yesterday(Okt'17). I cannot see WPA encryption in LuCI either.
So, I assume the new firmware ist not released yet, right?

this is crazy, years and years pass and nothing is being update in the firmware side for WIFI and WPA encryptions....................................................i am regretting buying this VoCore2 Ultimate device i bought many years ago! This is the problem with 1 man devices, no support or updates professional, and the creator only relies on the community to help each other.. what community!

The new firmware already released. :) Because openwrt is a system for develop, so mostly time people compile their own firmware or use console, you can compile your own from source by add github.com/vonger/vocore2 patch.
Or for my compiled one check http://vonger.cn/misc/vocore2/20181015.bin. And I will push new firmware compiled by trunk of openwrt at http://vonger.cn/misc/vocore2/

PS: openwrt trunk version changes frequently, so my compile is always out of date, most of the software can not download and use directly, unless you use LTS version.

Once next openwrt LTS version come, I will replace the one on website.

I keep updating the device with the firmware on this webiste (version 2017), each time after vocore2 ultimate reboots, it stills shows the 2015 version of OpenWRT, why??

This is not true, most of the people who use OpenWRT are not compiling their own, they simply install the firmware on their routers and then config OpenWRT to their needs. Only a few people will compile it, install ubuntu and do everything else. With that in mind, i think you should put more effort in supporting your clients who do not have the time to compile and/or wait for a new firmware to be posted on your site before they can use the paid devices for something useful. I have not used my vocore at all since i bought it, mainly because of the poor wireless speeds and also the lack of a 2nd ethernet port.

I update vocore with this firmware using the SCP command to transfer it to /tmp folder. Now i cannot access LuCi or SSH into the device. Only thru microUSB port. No internet at all, basically the device is dead now. Even when i try to flash a 2016, 2017 firmware... no luci, no internet........ nothing.

Your video about STA + AP mode on youtube is sooo fast to follow.

About the video please pause after every steps.

If you flash normal, you can open LuCI by 192.168.61.1(first boot takes around 3min to init firmware), and you can setting up STA there. AP name normally is VoCore2-XXXX or VoCore2.
I have patched LuCI for WPA issue, check here http://vonger.cn/?p=14525

Return to VoCore2/Lite/Ultimate
