What am I doing wrong?
I attached the two leads from the USB cable to the first two holes at the 8:00 position on the board, and sure enough when I connect the cable the led lights up. Right on! Now I start checking the WIFI networks listed in my WIFI devices, and the little vocore doesn't show up in any of them. All are with a foot of the vocore.
Am I holding my mouth wrong when I connect or what?

1. first check if LED is lighting correctly.
2. check if your USB power is stable.
3. connect to UART to TTL, check the boot log.

When you say, "connect UART to TTL", what exactly do you mean? I was under the impression that when the vocore powered up I'd see its WIFI SID in the available WIFI list on my laptop. I'd then use putty to connect to it.
The LED is a steady green.
As for the USB power I've tried getting it from my desktop, a big 600-watt bugger, a Macbook Pro, and a 2-Amp USB charging wall plug. How would I check to see if it's stable? A multi-tester? Do I watch the needle to see if it's bouncing around?

Another question: I used two of the power connector holes. There are four. Two 3.5V and two Gnd connectors.
a) Did I connect them correctly (See photo)? Should I have split out and used both 3.5V holes and both Gnd holes?
b) Why are there two sets of holes?

OK a re-read of the user's manual showed me the TTL-USB UART connect technique. I'll find an un-mutilated USB cable - and mutilate it. Thanks for your help.

Another thing i noticed after reading the manual: The LED stays on all the time. The manual seem to suggest that the LED is supposed to go off after about 15 seconds.

5V and GND is enough.
Once it connect to UART2TTL, please send the log.
It is weird, if LED keep lighting, the VoCore is failed to boot at all.

Re: Vocore 1.0 starts but no wifi
I changed the USB cable I was using to a new one, and the vocore powered up and performed as advertised. The problem was the cable, not the vocore.
Thank you for your advice.
